Tending Your Garden
One of my clients, an avid gardener, recently lamented that her flowers are fading. My gardening is much more minimal, but I’m noticing the same thing.
Of course this can be a bit disappointing, but it is just the normal course of nature. We can’t control many things- like the weather. Seasons change. Some flowers are early bloomers, some are late. As with most things, I suppose variety is the spice of life.
Even if we miss our blooms, we can usually accept these factors and changes. Change is the inevitable. Spring will come back around.
I’ve been thinking about how this is a good analogy for life. Many of the same principles apply.
Consider the following suggestions and try to accept, and even enjoy, the flow of life and process, while focusing on the things we can do.
Be the gardener.
It’s up to us to do so, although we can always find helpers and teachers along the way.
Cultivate moments of peace, calm, contentment, appreciation etc.
Accept changing circumstances, needs and seasons.
Prune the old when needed. This paves the path for new growth.
Find your Miracle Grow. What is supporting and nourishing for you?
Pull the weeds. This may relate to poor, unhelpful habits, and especially to the thoughts that we think and focus on.
As I mentioned above, we may need helpers. If you could use some support, please reach out: [email protected]
