Lessons Learned from Spring Cleaning

Do you typically engage in spring cleaning? Or feel the urge to do so? Many of us do, me included. It seems to be a part of the season of renewal following winter. We are ready for a sense of freshness and openness.

Some ways this may look:

  • Clearing out old leaves in our yard and preparing to plant flowers.
  • Deep cleaning our home.
  • Swapping winter blankets etc. for spring and summer items.
  • Decluttering and donating items we no longer need.
  • Putting warm sweaters away and refreshing our wardrobe.
  • Working through piles of paperwork and organizing our files.

Some additional items to consider are more internal:

  • Looking at habits that might not be helpful.
  • Noticing where we spend our time, and we are setting priorities.
  • Being aware of our self-talk and working. Working to release the unhelpful thinking patterns and be more compassionate with ourselves.
  • Releasing unhelpful habits and ways coping with stress. Refreshing your list of good strategies and coping tools.
